My Umbrella; 2 Word Messaging
BNI Executive Director, Cys Bronner, shares her own Umbrella and invites all to establish your own Positivity Umbrella with two-word messaging that put you on a positive journey forever.
What is a Positivity Umbrella? The way I look at it is that an umbrella can be a protecting force or influence, something that you stand under – in this case, I stand under that Positivity Umbrella in the manner of both definitions and mostly as the influence I wish in my life.
These are based on the concept of two-word messaging that Norm Dominguez shares in his weekly Life Is Positively Remarkable Forum and book, The Magic of Positivity; Living Positively Remarkable Every Day. His view of positivity and how it lifts our spirits and with that we can accomplish so much more each day, are so inline with my own passions and journey that I wanted to share my own Umbrella with you today:
– Live Laughing
– Love Audaciously
– Leaders Listen
– Boundless Opportunity
– Be Fearless
– Think Positive
and I would like to add …

So let’s talk about these two-word messages and why I decided to choose these as the staples of my own Umbrella
- Live Laughing
I have to admit that finding the joy and humour in things is so important to what I view as a successful life, this is how I hope I am remembered – as someone who lived laughing. If you can’t see this happening in your life on a daily basis, as a habit, I highly recommend that you give it a go at least once a day.
- Love Audaciously
Love without fear. As you walk through life, commit to being your authentic self and share that bravely with others. Your actions may offend, inspire or comfort others but most importantly you warm lives, including your own with a bold heart.
- Leaders listen
They listen, they observe, they read, they learn. They do these things so that they may positively lead for others proactively not lead to others reactively
- Boundless Opportunity
You create your own glass walls and ceiling – knock ‘em down! Every moment that we live and breath gives up boundless opportunity. You have only to seize it.
- Be Fearless
Life was not meant to walk on eggshells. Be fearless, giving and enjoy! Light the scented candle, use the guest towels and act outside your comfort zone when your gut tells you to. Don’t sweat the small stuff, as they say.
- Think Positive
Thinking positive can be a major hurdle, can’t it? Realizing that thinking is the 1st step to thought, word and deed can feel insurmountable – but what a fabulously freeing moment when you realize that actually, you can.
For me, I realized at a very young age I really wanted to be a Mommy (I was that young) that supporting and guiding individuals towards their life as good citizens would be an amazing journey towards my life goal of making a difference in some small way.
But what I saw were people who could not juggle their parental dreams and responsibilities to be there in the way that I wanted.
Over the years, Dave and I have been blessed to have had 18 children in our lives – I could not have done this without a positive plan of creating a life of servant leadership and knowing that having my own business was the key to the rewarding life choice that others doubted – because actually, you can.
Today I invite you to establish your own Positivity Umbrella with two-word messaging that put you on a positive journey forever.
